Arthritis - Osteoarthritis and Rheumatic Arthritis

(c) 2010 by John W. Apsley, II, MD(E), ND, DC www.doctorapsley.com email: John@DrApsley.com

Why do I have arthritis?

There are always key reasons why people get arthritis:

  1. The first is not enough oxygen or oxygen utilization (this causes, among other things, inflammation).
  2. The second is not enough structured water in the body or diet (unsuspected dehydration often contributes to inflammation).
  3. The third is a colloidal mineral deficiency in your body cells (lack of colloidal minerals sets up bone loss as well as inflammatory conditions that require selenium, copper, zinc and manganese to be kept in proper check).
  4. The fourth is unsuspected low thyroid function, sometimes in conjunction with low adrenals and gondal function.
  5. The fifth is a disturbed immune system, typcially from repeated rounds of infections treated with antibiotic therapy, which is often further complicated by unsuspected low thyroid function.
  6. The sixth is excessive inflammation, due to dietary and environmental triggers. Patients with arthritis must learn the Coca Pulse Test (CPT) to screen for all food sensitivities. My Getting Started tab is designed to automatically eliminate most of the food sensitivities deriving from junk foods and cooked foods. But some raw foods, at least temporarily, may still cause inflammatory stresses in the joints. Raw dairy products are one such food. This inflammatory reaction will raise the heart rate after a meal when such an offending food is consumed. So, it is easy to determine you have a food or two that still are triggering your joint inflammation. The CPT is performed as follows:
    • First, determine your basal pulse rate by palpating your neck's carotid artery first thing in the morning. Take it for 15 seconds, or better yet, for 30 seconds, then multiply this number by the factor to determine your pulse rate per minute. Next, take your pulse again just before eating a meal or a snack. Write this number down. Then, 30 minutes after your meal (post-prandial), take your pulse again. Write that number down. If your pulse has elevated 10 beats or more per minute from just prior to eating, you have likely just consumed an offending food that has induced an inflammatory reaction in your body stemming from food sensitivities.
    • Second, identify that food by process of elimination, and stop eating it.
    • Third, digestive enzymes and baking soda can reduce or eliminate most food sensitivities, especially if they are consumed in their raw state. This will be comprehensively covered in my eBook cited below.
    • Fourth, unsuspected low thyroid function plays a major role in all inflammatory conditions. Proper thyroid medication can also help reduce or eliminate the inflammatory responce from many offending foods, thereby enabling the patient to return to these foods in their proper, raw state.
  7. The seventh factor is lack of proper exercise, like regular physical yogal, or sessions of low impact aerobics such as aqua-aerobics is also key. For folks who don't feel like exercising because they are so tired, that's ok. All they need do is start at the top and work their way down. And that means making a trip to a physician who practices complementary medicine and understands how to treat thyroid conditions properly. Believe me, sooner than later everyone will get their attitude and confidence to start exercising again once the first 5 bullet points are taken care of adequately.

Always restore the body's own self-healing system first. Then the "footing" of all other natural healing tools employed will have the advantage of driving forward from the high-ground.

What makes Osteoarthritis different from Rheumatoid Arthritis?

Osteoarthritis rises out of mineral deficiencies and poor digestion and metabolism of mineral rich foods. It also arises out of lower hormonal functions, and needs to be addressed by a physician experienced in bio-identical hormonal replacement therapy.

Osteoarthritis arises out of a degenerated, low gain, cellular state because:
A. You allowed your body to enter into the low gain colloidal state by these seven factors above. That's the bad news.
B. The good news is, by simply putting your body back into "high-gain,"your body is its own best healer. Just as you were in control to place your body into the low gain state, you are just as much in control to place your body back into its high gain state. All you have to do is provide it what it needs then step aside.
What should I do if I suffer from osteoarthritis?

  1. By going to my "Getting Started" tab, you can begin. It's that simple.
  2. Give importance to digestive aids such as hydrochloric acid supplementation during each meal. Low HCl production in your stomach can lead to overgrowth of the wrong bacteria in your gut as well as contributing to food sensitivities, both of which will aggravate the any flares of inflammation in your joints.
  3. By taking your basal underarm temperature before you get out of bed each morning, you can see if your thyroid may be low. The normal underarm temperature is 98.0oF ±0.2oF. Until your levels of body thyroid hormone become optimal, weight gain will always come at a price, that is, once you loss it, it will come back. With each subsequent successful weight loss effort, it becomes more and more difficult to loss the wieght and easier and easier to gain it all back. Proper thyroid hormone levels stops this so long as a proper diet and exercise program are adhered to for life.
  4. By compiling a complete list of offending foods via the CPT and discontinuing eating them, you can then reduce the stresses known to associate with inflammatory processes in your body.
  5. Taking in daily doses of cod liver oil and flax seed oil, along with the minerals - selenium, iodine, copper, manganese and zinc - is very important.
  6. Select cell-tissue extracts can be very important to restore the mineral matrix to the bone and joints as quickly as possible. See my upcomping eBook Cellular Therapeutics: Overcoming Bone and Joint Disorders.
  7. If you continue to experience difficulties, then its time to browse over my "Essential Links" tab for further resources.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (R.A.) rises out of immune dysregulation because:

A. Due to the body reserves becoming exhausted over a longer time frame, lowered immunity results, opening the door to deep-tissue invasions of amoebic, candida (yeast), Mycoplasma, Borrelia, Proteus mirabilis, and other critters that may include mutated forms of same. See:[Here]

B. For folks who have taken antibiotics in their life time, it is likely they have not totally killed the offending critters and removed them from the body, but rather helped the critters to mutate into forms the immune system has a more difficult time to recognize. Therefore, you cannot eliminate the cell-wall deficient forms of these infectious agents, you must change the milieu of the internal cell they inhabit to produce sustained recovery or cure. See: [Here]

What should I do if I suffer from R.A.?

  1. Start by correcting the causations listed under 1 through 7, and then finish by correcting A & B directly above. So start by beginning the program under my "Getting Started" tab. And finish with eradicating pathogen loads in your body with the help of a trained physician in this technique.
  2. Therefore, consider select natural antimicrobials with your doctor. See my sub-tab - "Natural Antimicrobials," under the "Essential Links" main tab.
  3. Specifically under this section of Natural Antimicrobials,
first educate yourself on the iodine/iodide resource section. Be careful to determine:

    A. No sensitivity to iodine (or shellfish) is present.

    B. It is wise to have a physician monitor to you for a possible Wolff-Chaikoff reaction (iodism). So before starting on them however, I suggest you go to my Essential Links tab and look for a physician to guide you. Die-off from high-quality antimicrobials is often strong at first, and managed detoxification proceedures should be in place to handle them should they arise. Then other herbal or mineral antimicrobials like MMS, oligodynamic silver (UPOSH), oregano oil, baking soda, etc... can be used with usually excellent & lasting results, but always under the direct supervision of your doctor. Iodine has long be shown to be an excellent amoebicidal agent. See: [Here]

  4. Even in the face of producing more cell-wall deficient organisms, antimicrobial tools may be needed to render the final cure alongside The Regeneration Effect (i.e., ACTTM). For example, the imidazole family of antimicrobial agents (i.e., metronidazole or fluconazole) can be used successfully once the above 7 underlying causations are fully addressed. But expect die-off reactions, and be prepared to keep ahead of them. See: [Here]
  5. Next to last, specific cell-tissue extracts may be critical to eleviating remaining auto-immune events in the body, especially when dealing with the remaining cell-wall deficient organisms. These cell-wall deficient organisms will likely produce circulating immune complexes (CICs) also known as natural tissue antigens (NTAs), which can trigger ongoing inflammatory responces from the immune system. This is extensively covered in my future eBook: Cellular Therapeutics: Overcoming Autoimmune Disorders due out soon.
  6. And finally, sophisticated immune modulation is what caps-off the protocol. This is extensively covered in my future eBook Overcoming Arthritis with the Regeneration Effect.
